Eid ul Adha falls on 10 Zil Hijjah in the Islamic lunar calendar. For 1447 AH, astronomical calculations indicate the first day of Zil Hijjah will begin on Monday, 18 May 2026, making 10 Zil Hijjah fall on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
This is an expected date. In Pakistan, the official Eid date is announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after the Zil Hijjah moon is sighted on the evening of 29 Zil Qa'dah (17 May 2026). If the moon is not sighted that evening, Eid shifts by one day.
The three days of Qurbani
Qurbani is valid on three days:
- 10 Zil Hijjah — Eid day (after Eid prayer): Thursday, 28 May 2026
- 11 Zil Hijjah — Day two: Friday, 29 May 2026
- 12 Zil Hijjah — Day three: Saturday, 30 May 2026
On day one, Qurbani must be performed after the Eid prayer. Performing it before the Eid prayer invalidates the Qurbani. On days two and three, it may be performed at any time during daylight, though early morning is preferred.
Takbeer-e-Tashreeq
From Fajr of 9 Zil Hijjah (Wednesday, 27 May) through Asr of 13 Zil Hijjah (Sunday, 31 May), reciting the Takbeer-e-Tashreeq once after every fard prayer is wajib on adults.

Waqoof-e-Arafah — the key day of Hajj — falls on 9 Zil Hijjah (Wednesday, 27 May 2026). Saudi Arabia's Eid is typically one day before Pakistan's based on separate moon-sighting — expect Saudi Eid on 27 May.
